Resource Recovery Solutions for a Water-Smart Agriculture Future"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>FARMWISE is pleased to share that <strong>Amir Naghibi<\/strong>, Assistant Professor at Lund University, represented the <strong>FARMWISE Project<\/strong> at <strong>Water Innovation Europe 2025<\/strong> \u2014 a flagship annual event organised by <strong>Water Europe<\/strong>, held on <strong>27\u201328 October 2025<\/strong> in Copenhagen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event brought together leading EU-funded initiatives, industry innovators, policy makers, and water-sector pioneers to accelerate <strong>Europe\u2019s transition toward a Water-Smart Society<\/strong> \u2014 one that manages water wisely as the backbone of resilient food systems, our environment and the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udf31 FARMWISE Contribution: Water Data, Circularity &amp; Farm-Level Resilience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Amir participated in the session:<br><strong>\u201cHarnessing Digital &amp; Resource Recovery Innovation for Sustainable Farming\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His presentation explored how FARMWISE is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udca7 Supporting <strong>smarter irrigation and water-use decisions<\/strong> through digital modelling<br>\u267b\ufe0f Enhancing <strong>resource recovery<\/strong> across the agri-food chain<br>\ud83d\udcca Integrating <strong>interconnected data tools<\/strong> for water, soil, and resource management<br>\ud83c\udf3e Increasing <strong>resilience to drought<\/strong> and environmental pressures at farm level<br>\ud83d\udca1 Strengthening cooperation across Europe\u2019s <strong>water-agriculture innovation ecosystem<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The discussion emphasised the critical role of <strong>real-time analytics<\/strong>, <strong>stakeholder engagement<\/strong>, and <strong>eu-wide demonstration<\/strong> sites tested under real agricultural conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83e\udd1d Collaboration Across the Water-Agri Innovation Landscape<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The session facilitated valuable exchange between Horizon Europe projects including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Universwater<\/strong> \u2014 digital governance for water security<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>RAINS Project<\/strong> \u2014 cross-sector solutions for water pollution and scarcity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>GEORGIA EU Project<\/strong> \u2014 climate resilience and sustainable resource management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These collaborations support shared EU priorities, including the <strong>Water Resilience Initiative<\/strong>, the <strong>EU Green Deal<\/strong>, and <strong>Farm to Fork<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cConnecting with fellow projects working at the intersection of water and agriculture was energising \u2014 we are moving together toward a more resilient future.\u201d<\/em><br>\u2014 <strong>Amir Naghibi<\/strong>, Lund University<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd0d About Water Europe<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded by the European Commission in 2004, Water Europe is the <strong>leading multi-stakeholder platform for water innovation<\/strong>, representing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd39 +250 member organisations<br>\ud83d\udd39 Researchers, technology providers, utilities, farmers &amp;
